Palmarosa Oil

Palmarosa Oil

Palmarosa oil is one of India's most commercially significant grass-derived essential oils — steam-distilled from the dried grass of Cymbopogon martini (also known as Cymbopogon martinii), a member of the Gramineae (grass) family closely related to lemongrass and vetiver. Known by several regional and trade names including Turkish Geranium, East Indian Geranium, Indian Motia, and Rosha, palmarosa has earned a firm place in global aromatherapy, skincare, and fragrance industries for its exceptional geraniol content and its fresh, floral, rose-like aroma.

The grass is harvested before flowering — the optimal stage for maximum geraniol concentration — and immediately distilled to preserve the oil's full aromatic and therapeutic profile.

At Anjum Aromatics, our palmarosa oil is carefully distilled to produce a pale yellow, thin liquid with a strong initial aroma that settles into a warm, floral, and slightly fruity character — consistent in quality and composition across every batch.

In perfumery, palmarosa oil is a prized middle note — its high geraniol content (often 75–95%) makes it one of the most geraniol-rich natural materials available, and a cost-effective, ethically preferable alternative or complement to rose and geranium oils in floral, oriental, and chypre fragrance compositions. It blends harmoniously with rose, sandalwood, geranium, ylang ylang, cedarwood, and citrus oils.

Anjum Aromatics supplies palmarosa oil in bulk and wholesale quantities to perfume houses, skincare manufacturers, aromatherapy brands, Ayurvedic product companies, massage oil formulators, and personal care manufacturers across India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
