Patchouli Oil

Patchouli Oil

Patchouli oil is one of the most distinctive and immediately recognisable essential oils in the world — steam-distilled from the leaves of Pogostemon cablin, a large perennial plant from the Lamiaceae (mint) family, native to Southeast Asia and cultivated commercially across India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, and parts of South America. What truly sets patchouli apart from virtually every other essential oil is its aging quality: unlike most oils that degrade over time, patchouli's fragrance matures and deepens with age — becoming progressively smoother, richer, and more complex — making aged patchouli one of the most prized aromatic materials in luxury perfumery.

At Anjum Aromatics, our patchouli oil is carefully steam-distilled from high-quality dried leaves to produce a deep golden-brown liquid of medium-to-thick consistency, with a consistently rich musky, earthy, and slightly sweet scent profile — the hallmark character of premium Pogostemon cablin extraction.

In perfumery, patchouli oil is an irreplaceable base note — one of the most widely used fixatives in the fragrance industry, providing depth, longevity, and an unmistakable earthy warmth to oriental, chypre, woody, and gourmand fragrance families. It blends harmoniously with rose, sandalwood, myrrh, vetiver, bergamot, and citrus oils — and its fixative properties extend the longevity of top and middle notes in complex fragrance compositions.

Key Benefits:

- Stress Relief & Emotional Wellbeing: One of aromatherapy's most effective antidepressant oils — calms the mind, lifts mood, reduces anxiety, and promotes emotional grounding. Widely used in stress-relief blends, meditation formulations, and mental wellness diffuser oils

- Skincare: Clinically recognised for treating inflammatory skin conditions including eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. Its antiseptic properties accelerate wound healing, reduce scarring, and promote skin cell regeneration — a valued active ingredient in dermatological and natural skincare formulations

- Deodorising: A natural, long-lasting deodorant ingredient — neutralises body odour effectively and is incorporated into natural deodorants, body sprays, and personal hygiene products

- Aromatherapy & Massage: Its grounding, sensual aroma makes it a staple in massage oils, spa blends, and relaxation therapy — blending beautifully with sandalwood, rose, myrrh, and citrus to create deeply soothing aromatic experiences

- Perfumery & Incense: Beyond its use in fine fragrance, patchouli is a key ingredient in incense sticks, Bakhoor blends, and aromatic products — prized for its long-lasting, room-filling character and its ability to anchor complex aromatic compositions

Anjum Aromatics supplies patchouli oil in bulk and wholesale quantities to perfume houses, aromatherapy brands, skincare manufacturers, incense producers, personal care formulators, and wellness product companies across India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
